In an important step in elevating our sustainable business practices, Hemlock Connect received Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Certification on February 12th, 2020. This designation allows our customers to use FSC® labels on all items printed on the company’s five sheetfed digital presses and two envelope presses, conveying a commitment to helping protect the people, plant and animal species that live in and around, and depend upon, the forest.
FSC® certification is considered the gold standard designation for forest management, ensuring the wood source is responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable. FSC® Canada’s regional forest management standards were recently updated to address the most pressing issues now facing Canadian forests, including Indigenous Peoples Rights, Gender Equity, Landscape Management and Conservation.
